Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie
Ingredients:
– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup brown sugar, packed
– ½ cup granulated sugar
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– 2 large eggs
– 3 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
– ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
For serving:
– Vanilla ice cream (optional)
– Whipped cream (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 12-inch oven-safe skillet.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and add the vanilla extract.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
5. Fold in the chocolate chips and optional nuts.
6. Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared skillet.
7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
8. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
9. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
