PIONEER PECAN PIE

  • Ingredients:
1 pie crust, homemade or store-bought (plus extra dough for decorating, optional)
    1 1/2 cups brown sugar
    1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and browned (optional)
    3 large eggs
    1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1 1/2 tablespoons heavy cream
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Preparation:
Roll out pie crust to a circle that is 12 or 13 inches in diameter and large enough to fit a springform pan, tart pan, or pie dish. Preheat oven to 375°F.
Place the dough in the pan gently, pushing it into the bottom and sides while trimming the excess.
Cut out pie dough flowers or other shapes to subsequently garnish the crust, if desired.
Place pie plate in the refrigerator until ready to fill.
Eggs should be beaten until frothy and fluffy in a large bowl before brown butter is added.
Beat in brown and white sugar after combining until sugar granules are dissolved.
Flour, cinnamon, and salt should be added. Next, add heavy cream and vanilla extract.
Pour mixture into pie crust after fully incorporating, then fold in pecans.
Use any to decorate the pie crust.
