Chocolate Lovers Cake

Ingredients:

For the Cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water

For the Chocolate Frosting:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

1.  Prepare the Cake Batter:
– Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
– In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
– Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
– Stir in the boiling water until the batter is thin and well combined.
– Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.

2.  Bake the Cake:
– Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
– Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

3.  Make the Chocolate Frosting:
– In a large bowl, beat softened butter until creamy.
– Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, alternating with heavy cream, until the frosting is smooth and fluffy. Stir in vanilla extract.

4.  Assemble the Cake:
– Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a generous amount of frosting on top.
– Place the second layer on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining frosting.

5.  Decorate and Serve:
– Garnish with chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or your favorite toppings.
– Slice and enjoy with a glass of milk!
