Ingredients:
– 1 pound ziti pasta
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
– 1 medium onion, diced
– 3 garlic cloves, minced
– 3 cups marinara sauce
– 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
– ½ teaspoon salt
– ½ teaspoon black pepper
– 1 cup ricotta cheese
– 1 cup sour cream
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (plus extra for topping)
– ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
2. Cook the ziti pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef or sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
4. Add the diced onion and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
5. In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, sour cream, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese until well blended.
6. In the prepared baking dish, layer half of the cooked pasta, half of the meat sauce, and half of the cheese mixture. Repeat layers with the remaining ingredients.
7. Sprinkle additional mozzarella cheese on top for a cheesy crust.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
