Ingredients:
For the Pie:
– 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade, if preferred)
– 4 large eggs
2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Pinch of salt
For Garnish:
– Whipped cream
– Cinnamon sugar or freshly grated nutmeg
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges as desired.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
3. Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
4. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the custard is set and slightly wobbly in the center. A knife inserted near the center should come out clean.
5. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
6. Before serving, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar or nutmeg for a festive finish.
