Ingredients:
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1/2 cup heavy cream
– 3 large eggs
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
– 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
– Pinch of salt
– 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
– Powdered sugar, for dusting
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish with butter.
2. In a blender or mixing bowl, combine the milk, heavy cream, eggs, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, vanilla extract, almond extract, flour, and salt. Blend or whisk until smooth and lump-free.
3. Pour a thin layer of the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 5 minutes, or until just set. Remove from the oven.
4. Arrange the cherries evenly over the partially cooked batter, then pour the remaining batter over the top.
5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the clafoutis is puffed, golden, and set in the center. A toothpick inserted should come out clean.
6. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve warm or at room temperature.
