Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. Add mashed bananas, buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined, then stir in the hot water. Batter will be thin.
4. Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
5. For the filling, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the banana puree.
6. To make the ganache, heat heavy cream in a saucepan until it simmers. Remove from heat, pour over chocolate chips, and whisk until smooth.
7. Assemble the cake: place one layer on a serving plate, spread banana cream filling, and top with the second cake layer.
8. Pour ganache over the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
9. Garnish with banana slices and chocolate curls. Chill for 1 hour before serving.
